The American Kennel Club breed list is a registry of American pedigree purebred dog. Registration is required by breeders to sell puppies or recorded entertainment or sport participation. The AKC breed dogs received 900 000 in 2006. This counted 123 760 Labrador Retriever, Yorkshire Terrier 48 346 43 575 German Shepherd, Golden Retrievers and Beagles 42 962 39 484. Critics of the AKC are quick to point out errors in the registry. Terrier Group: The Group has 28 breeds Terrier, feistybred to hunt vermin both above ground and underground in caves or hiding places.
The companion and dogs: 23 small companion breeds like poodles and Pekingese, that dogs are commonly defined as a round.
Herding Dogs: 19 games, the animals are Border Collies and German Shepherds are bred to herd.
Other Class: not fully recognized breeds. The race is set to list on the waiting list to confirm agene pool and abundant breeding methods positive before finally categorized as one of the other groups.
Foundation Stock Service: This class provides the foundation stock that eventually a fully recognized breed in the United States, it was shown that the mating pair produces dogs to their parents that the appearance and behavior.
